Announcing American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology MFM (AJOG MFM)!
We are so excited to launch this brand new medical journal on Maternal-Fetal Medicine! Our field of high-risk pregnancy, having to do with everything related to maternal or fetal issues, as well as labor and delivery issues, has exploded with level 1 evidence in the last few years. Randomized controlled studies (RCTs) and meta-analyses of RCTs, as well as other studies, continue to revolutionize clinical care of the pregnant woman and her baby on a daily basis. Much of what we learned in the past becomes obsolete within years. AJOG-MFM will help obstetric providers to keep abreast of the latest developments, with direct and clear recommendations for change in clinical care when indicated.
The American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology (AJOG) has become the top 2 journal in Ob-Gyn. It gets over 2,500 submissions per year, with an acceptance rate of ˜12%. Many declined submissions are in fact excellent studies, and in the field of obstetrics. The birth of this sister journal, AJOG-MFM, comes from the need and wish to welcome some of these outstanding studies into the new AJOG family of journals. We thank the AJOG Editors for their encouragement and, in particular, Roberto Romero Editor-in-chief, Obstetrics, for the vision to promote and support this endeavor.
We thank you, our readers, for the support. Any ideas, suggestions, comments, please send to [email protected]. So exciting!
Vincenzo Berghella, MD
